If you know how to use one, it's not a bad idea TBH. The tricky part is that there are different firearm laws in each state though as my BFF always says, if someone is attacking you and you end up killing them, as a single woman with no priors, a jury (most likely) won't convict you. I am working on a "safety while traveling" article that addresses this and other options as well.
